New look for Arris product

September 13, 2014 08.39 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Arris has launched a range of HEVC, UHD and wireless product in four minimalist form factors.

“Our new lines of HEVC set-tops showcase our vision for the future of set-top design,” said Larry Robinson, President, CPE Business, Arris. “The technology in these devices deliver that and more, featuring HEVC decode for Ultra HD video and the latest 802.11ac Wi-Fi to bring that experience to the growing assortment of connected devices. These technological advancements reflect our leadership in set-top innovation. We’ve wrapped them into small, discreet profiles and enduring aesthetics that enable service providers to offer discerning consumers a choice of how to feature this technology in their homes.”

New set-tops in the Arris VIP4000 and VIP5000 series feature HEVC and 802.11ac Wi-Fi and are based on the Arris IPTV platform Krea TV.

These are the first Arris set-tops to feature a new, elevated set-top design. Each series will be available in a range of colors, including snow & copper; ice blue; Arris orange; tinted grey; premium umbra; and midnight purple. They are slated to launch globally starting in 2015.

The new designs have also made their way into the accompanying remote controls. IR comes as standard and Bluetooth low-energy is also available.
