ADB (Hall 5, B48) has launched an end-to-end cloud hosted solution for residential satellite service providers wanting to deliver a B2B offer to smaller cable network operators.
Known as ADB S2C (Sky to Cable), it packages up the residential satellite service into a secure, branded, managed cable network offer, providing the operator DTH revenues from non-satellite homes.
ADB S2C requires no changes to the satellite network and uses secure pay-TV encryption technology to ensure accurate subscriber counts and payments. In addition, local channel insertion can bring additional offer opportunities to each operators’ bouquet.
ADB S2C features a high channel density within a given bandwidth, enhanced reception quality and the delivery of various interactive and value-added services.
It consists of a digital TV head-end part interfacing broadcast channels to a cable network.
The delivered digital signal is decoded by the STB. At the head-end side, a series of software component is added to the input stream, allowing the delivery of value-added services to end-users, such as EPG, advertising and applications.
Commenting on the solution, Corrado Rocca, SVP global marketing at ADB, said: “With this solution we further strengthen our product portfolio, creating opportunities to maximize the investments on content made by our customers, by efficiently addressing uncovered and fragmented market segments. ADB S2C provides a complete array of digital video and audio offer needed for a comprehensive TV offer with minimal capital investment in equipment, maintenance and support at each digital head-end”.
Peter Balchin, CEO at ADB, added: “ADB S2C is a combination of software and solutions that fits our Triple-S strategy perfectly. During the IBC show we will exhibit a number of Triple-S products & solutions which will demonstrate to the market where our core competence is.”
