German video-on-demand (VOD) operator maxdome has chosen ContentWise, a software solution provided by Italian digital media and IT company Moviri, to add personalisation, discovery and recommendation features to its platorm.
The solution enables maxdome to provide personalised streams created to match viewer behaviour, context and preferences.
As Germany’s largest VOD service with over 60,000 titles, maxdome needed to simplify search and discovery for its users while simultaneously maximising, at scale, the return on its licensed library of content, according to ContentWise. Its advanced personalisation and management solution was selected by the ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiary to address these challenges, creating consumer profiles across multiple screens and delivering individually selected content to each device.
“With more content available than ever before, personalisation has become an essential requirement for content providers who are seeking to increase asset utilisation, viewer retention and ultimately monetise their content offering,” Paolo Bozzola, CEO of ContentWise, said in Milan.
The ContentWise solution is provided as a software as a service and is completely managed by ContentWise. The approach means that maxdome has been able to add personalised recommendations to its VOD service in just one month.
ContentWise will demonstrate its personalisation, content discovery and recommendations solution for cable, satellite, broadband, IPTV and streaming video operators at upcoming TV technology trade fair IBC 2014 in Amsterdam on stand 14.K05. The solution covering linear TV, pay-TV and VOD is used, for example, by Mediaset, Sky and TIM Brasil.
