Zappware (Hall 1, A81) has announced important updates to its end-to-end platform for DVB, IPTV, OTT and hybrid networks.
The first of these, using the new social TV feature, allows operators to let their users to connect around TV by providing them the opportunity to share new discoveries on Facebook and Twitter Zappware also provides a complete Facebook App on set-top boxes.
The second allows operators to send messages directly to subscribers and create promotion screens on all devices.
Thirdly, the Zappware platform now allows for cloud recording (network PVR) on all second screen devices.
Fourthly, there have been a number of personalization improvements. The platform offers a uniform search across all devices. Users can create playlists or favorite lists of events, assets and channels. Users of iOS and Android mobile devices can now be reminded of upcoming TV programmes through the devices’ notification centre.
Fifthly, shortened startup times on mobile devices and improved UI animations have boosted the overall user experience.
Zappware has also announced the availability of its own middleware. New partnerships have been set up with KAONMEDIA, Arion Technology and CreNova.
In addition, it has announced additional integrations of its platform with conditional access systems, encoders, origin servers and CDNs.
