CBS Action is to make its debut on the UK DTT platform Freeview on October 1, 2014. The channel, owned by CBS Studios International and AMC Networks International, is already available on Sky, Freesat and Virgin.
Shows featured on the channel include NCIS, now the world’s most-watched TV show, and Star Trek: Next Generation, with digitally re-mastered episodes. The autumn schedule will also include the digitally re-mastered Star Trek: The Original Series exclusively available on the channel, and other CBS Action classics such as The Streets of San Francisco, Nash Bridges, Hawaii Five-0 and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Tanya Gugenheim, Chief Business Development Officer, AMCNI – Zone said: “Following the successful launch of CBS Reality on DTT in April, we are excited that CBS Action is now also going to be available to Freeview homes. CBS Action showcases the best in action dramas and sci-fi, so a really great fit with the Freeview audience.”
CBS Action launched in November 2009, following an agreement between CBS and Chellozone, whose share was acquired by AMC earlier this year.
