Poland-based DCC LABS has joined the HbbTV global initiative, having previously been an active member of the Open IPTV Forum (OIPF) for a number of years.
HbbTV took over the latter in June, thereby broadening its mandate to delineate new standards aimed at harmonising the broadcast and broadband delivery of entertainment services to the end-consumer.
Commenting on the development, which according to DCC LABS took place on July 29, DCC LABS CEO Marek Kielczewski said: “We are very enthusiastic about having joined HbbTV and eager to become an active member of the Association both by following its standards as well as by helping devise new ones. Our products help TV operators keep pace with innovations, launch new services and business models that may open new revenue streams. We strongly believe that our contribution to HbbTV will benefit the entire industry as well as add to our own growth”.
