ABOX42 to demo new M-Series receivers

September 2, 2014 14.33 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

ABOX42 Hybrid M SeriesABOX42 (Hall 14, J13) will unveil its new line of 3rd generation hybrid DVB receivers, which combine DVB reception with full IPTV as well as OTT capabilities, at this year’s IBC.

There will be three models, namely M15-S2 with DVB-S2 support for satellite TV reception; M15-T2 for reception of DVB-T and DVB-T2 signals; and the M15-CO for use in DVB-C cable networks.

All three integrate advanced internet functionalities, which combine DVB, IPTV and OTT TV services seamlessly.

They also support the new ABOX42 OPX TV client, which provides an advanced and easy-to-use UI.

Furthermore, they support the ABOX42 ‘SmartSDK development environment; include an advanced HTML5 browser with support of multiple browser tabs and multiple layers; can easily be integrated into 3rd party middleware, multiscreen solutions and into the operators existing backend systems; support a wide range of streaming formats for live and on demand content; and are based on the latest Broadcom chipsets.

Commenting on the new series, Matthias Greve, CEO of ABOX42, said: “We are pleased to launch our M15-Series Hybrid SmartSTB product line giving customers the market requested and outstanding flexibility.

“Building the new M15-series DVB hybrid SmartSTBs with our advanced software stack enables our customers to build next generation services with an unbeatable user experience and a clear upgrade path to hybrid functionality thus giving them the essential competitive advantages in changing and growing new market.”
