Trace widens reach in SE Europe

September 1, 2014 10.01 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Trace Sport StarsTrace Sport Stars has made its debut in South Eastern Europe following an agreement between its operator, Trace, and United Group.

As a result, it is now available to over 20,000 subscribers receiving the HD package offered by United Group’s members.

The latter include SBB Serbia, Telemach Slovenia and Telemach Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Trace Sports Stars is the first channel exclusively dedicated to sports celebrities.

Commenting on its launch, Suzana Radosevic, director, content management department, said: “One of our top priorities has always been offering a diverse array of channels to our users, which is why we are constantly searching for interesting content that we can add to our network. The unique concept of the Trace Sport Stars channel appealed to us, and we are very excited that the local audience will now have a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of world famous athletes. We believe that the channel will interest a large number of our users, and we look forward to providing them with quality entertainment through this collaboration.”

Laurent Dumeau, CEO Trace Sport Stars, added: “Launching on United Group’s platforms across South Eastern Europe for the first time is a significant step for Trace Sport Stars global expansion. Development in key Central and Eastern European countries, one of the fastest growing markets in Europe for the pay-TV industry is a priority for the Trace group. We are delighted to be entering this competitive market with United Group and have no doubts that our sports entertainment programming will broaden the traditional channel offer across the region”.

Trace is a brand and multimedia group owned by Modern Times Group (75%) and its founder and management (25%).
