CNN to cut down German DTT distribution

August 29, 2014 23.01 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

CNN InternationalNews channel CNN International will terminate its digital terrestrial distribution in German federal state North-Rhine Westphalia.

Local media authority LfM will decide about the allocation of the vacated DTT slot. Applications have been submitted by Germany’s two largest commercial TV groups RTL and ProSiebenSat.1, according to LfM.

RTL wants to distribute its channel RTL Nitro while ProSiebenSat.1 wants to use the capacity for its ProSieben Maxx channel.

LfM wants to decide about the allocation of the slot this autumn.
