Ukraine’s National TV and Radio Council is to set up a working group on issues related to the transition to digital broadcasting.
This follows a meeting attended by various government and industry bodies, along with the DTT platform operator Zeonbud.
The issues that require urgent solutions include the development of a plan for the shutdown of analogue services; the development of technical regulations for the DVB-T2 standard and measurement of digital signal coverage; and capacity for RTT on two multiplexes.
Also to be addressed are the use of frequencies freed up by the transition to digital broadcasting, providing the public information on the transition and technical aspects of digital signal settings using STBs.
There was also a call at the meeting for the allocation of DTT frequencies for local broadcasting services.
