Peter de Mönnink, CEO Sanoma Media Netherlands, will be the new CEO of SBS Broadcasting in the Netherlands from October 1.
De Mönnink (picture above) will take over from interim-CEO Hans Edin, and he will combine his current role as CEO Sanoma with its new function. For the last one and a half years Edin has been interim CEO of SBS Broadcasting, Sanoma’s Dutch television joint venture with Talpa Media.
As Group Head of Television Hans Edin will be responsible for developing Sanoma’s future TV strategy and building operational excellence in the TV operations. In this role he will cooperate closely with Sanoma’s TV management in the Netherlands and Finland. Edin will also join the Supervisory Board of SBS Broadcasting and reports to Sanoma’s president and CEO Harri-Pekka Kaukonen.
“We are grateful to Hans Edin for his important contribution to SBS Broadcasting. Hans has succeeded in creating a stable environment and a solid basis for future growth. We are glad to benefit from his experience and knowledge in securing that our TV operations will remain future-proof,” Harri-Pekka Kaukonen commented.
“We aim to deliver consumers with smart and innovative cross media experiences. The new ‘double role’ of Peter de Mönnink undoubtedly contributes to a closer co-operation between SBS and Sanoma in the Netherlands.”
