Teleste will be covering Altice’s needs for its DOCSIS 3.1 broadband access network equipment for another five years.
Under the frame agreement, Teleste will provide access network equipment to Altice, which enables delivery of new broadband services according to the DOCSIS 3.1 standard.
DOCSIS 3.1 allows multigigabit broadband speeds to be offered to subscribers.
This will be the first mass-scale deployment of a DOCSIS 3.1 capable access network in Europe, according to Teleste.
The value of the agreement, which is an extension of previous frame agreements with Altice Group, is estimated to exceed €20 million over the next five years.
The Altice Group provides cable based services like high quality pay-TV, fast broadband internet and fixed line telephony and, in certain countries, mobile telephony services to both residential and corporate customers.
It has a presence in countries such as France, Israel, Belgium and Luxembourg, Portugal and the Caribbean Islands.
