The Russian cable operator Akado Telekom has upgraded its Moscow backbone network using the Infinera DTN-X platform.
As a result, it has increased its total fibre capacity by more than four times.
Commenting on the development, Vitaly Klishin, senior VP at Akado Group, said: “Deploying the Infinera Intelligent Transport Network allows Akado to dramatically increase the capacity on our metro backbone to support the growing demand in Moscow and Moscow region.
“With this solution we can rapidly scale network capacity to deliver reliable 10G, 40G and 100G services to meet the needs of both B2B and B2G customers of Akado Telekom, including banks, service providers and government organisations.”
Chris Champion, VP, EMEA sales, Infinera, added: “Akado’s deployment of the DTN-X platform enables the company to meet the demands of the growing Russian market with speed and efficiency.
“We are pleased to work with Akado on enhancing their network and committed to helping our Russian customers succeed in this market.”
