Swiss youth channel joiz wants to expand into further European countries with the UK being at the top of the list.
“The UK has the highest priority for us,” Swiss newspaper Schweiz am Sonntag quotes Alexander Mazzara, CEO and founder of joiz. Talks with potential partners have already taken place.
“The demand for an interactive service like ours is undoubtedly high,” said Mazzara with reference to the UK’s TV market. It would be easy to transfer the channel’s business model to different countries. He was therefore confident that joiz would soon be able to expand: “The chances for further growth are great.”
An English-language website has been set up to accompany the launch in further international markets.
joiz launched in Switzerland on March 28, 2011, followed by Germany on August 5, 2013. The advertising-financed free-to-air channel whose name is composed of the words choice and joy shows interactive music and entertainment programmes in which viewers can participate through digital communication platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Skype.
