It looks like the end of the road for Aereo – the IP-delivered TV platform – after the US Second Circuit Court of Appeals denied it a court hearing.
Aereo has been dark since the end of June when the US Supreme Court reversed a lower court decision.
The company is arguing that it is a de-facto cable service and says that it is willing to pay fees to the broadcasters that have succeeded in keeping it off the air.
Aereo operated in 11 US markets, picking up the signals of local broadcasters through a series of miniature antenna arrays, before redistributing over IP.
There has been no comment from Aereo or the major broadcasters.
