German subscription broadcaster Sky Deutschland will extend its HD offering by the three channels Sky Cinema+1 HD, Sky Cinema+24 HD and RTL Crime HD on September 25, 2014.
Sky Cinema+1 HD and Sky Cinema+24 HD show the programmes of movie channel Sky Cinema HD time-shifted by one hour and one day respectively. The two channels will be available in the Film HD package for DTH satellite and IPTV customers and on some cable networks.
RTL Crime HD will be available as part of basic package Sky Welt to Sky HD subscribers via satellite and IPTV.
“Apart from our on-demand platforms, Sky Cinema+1 and Sky Cinema+24 are great services for our subscribers,” said Gary Davey, executive vice president programming at Sky Deutschland. “More than 30% of the top movies of 2014 were viewed on the channels Sky Cinema+1 and Sky Cinema+24. In future, these broadcasts will also be available in brilliant HD.
Davey added: “With RTL Crime HD, we look forward to providing outstanding international crime and action formats in top video and sound quality – the majority of them as exclusive German TV premieres.”
The three channels have so far only been available in standard definition (SD) at Sky Deutschland.
