Digi Sport is to launch three more channels, bringing the total it operates to five.
Quoted by Parabola, Marcel Satanek, the CEO of Digi Slovakia, said that the reason for doing so is the complexity of sports rights, with the company having purchased some for the Czech Republic and others for Slovakia.
The three new channels – Digi Sport 3, 4 and 5 – will be aimed at the Slovak market, with the latter only showing every third Champions League game.
Digi Sport 3 and Digi Sport 4 will meanwhile include Champions League, Fortuna League, Serie A, Ligue 1, the athletics Diamond League and Czech Tipsport League (hockey) in its output.
The two existing channels (Digi Sport 1 and 2) will meanwhile offer the Premier League, Ligue 1, Serie A, Fortuna League, Fed Cup, Davis Cup and Asian Premier league tennis.
