Europe is beating the US when it comes to high-speed delivery of Netflix content, according to the company’s latest ISP speed index.
In the US, the fastest provider is Cablevision with its Optimum package, which offers 3.1 Mbps, while Verizon is the slowest with 0.97 Mbps speed.
In Europe, the Netherlands is offering the fastest access to Netflix content, averaging 3.61 Mbps, with Caiway topping the chart with 3.83 Mbps broadband speed, followed closely by Ziggo (also 3.83 Mbps) and UPC with 3.71 Mbps. Tele2 is the slowest in the country’s To 10, but still beats the fastest US provider with 3.23 Mbps.
Sweden is second fastest in Europe with 3.35 Mbps, followed by Denmark with 3.26 Mbps, Norway with 3.18 Mbps and the UK with 3.01 Mbps.
Swedish’s best performing operator is Com Hem with 3.68 Mbps, in Denmark it is WAOO with 3.56 Mbps, in Norway Get delivers 3.47 Mbps and Virgin Media in the UK offers 3.41 Mbps.
