Al Jazeera’s beIN Sports will launch a third channel in France on September 15, the broadcaster announced.
The new channel, BeIN Sports 3, will broadcast handball, tennis, volley ball, athletics, as well as Lilgue 1 and Champions League games.
The first channel will carry the best of beIN, the most important competition and biggest programmes and BeIN Sports 2 will focus on European football championships.
The broadcaster will continue its BeIN Sports Max channel, which is only active when there are more live events to cover than the current channels can broadcast.
BeIN Sports has over 2.5 million subscribers, adding 850,000 since the start of the FIFA World Cup. The third channel will be added at no additional cost in the EUR 12 a month subscription fee.
