The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Puls has launched an on demand service named PlayPuls.
It also plans to launch a HD version of its flagship channel TV Puls in September.
According to Gazeta Wyborcza, it offers viewers several hundred programme episodes and will from this autumn also include titles such as Hannibal, American Horror Story and The Walking Dead, with the broadcaster’s own productions available free of charge.
Previously, Telewizja Puls had co-operated with Cyfrowy Polsat on its VOD service ipla.
According to Dariusz Dabski, the president of Telewizja Puls, distribution of the new channel TV Puls HD, which already has agreements in place with UPC, Vectra, Toya and Sat Film, will be gradually extended to other cable operators.
He added that there are no plans to launch a HD version of its other proprietary channel Puls2 and that the combined audience share of Telewizja Puls’s services should reach 6-7% by the end of the year.
