ProSiebenSat.1 launches international OTT service

ProSiebensat.1 WeltGerman commercial TV group ProSiebenSat.1 has commenced offering selected programmes from its domestic free-to-air channels Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, sixx, ProSieben Maxx and Sat.1 Gold to viewers abroad on the PC, laptop, tablet and smart phone.

The target groups are the around 9 million German expats as well as holiday-makers and students. The OTT service offers access to the live-stream of ProSiebenSat.1 Welt, the subscription-based international TV channel which launched in 2005 via satellite in the United States and Canada. Viewers can also opt to watch the programmes of the upcoming 12 hours and the past 12 hours.

The line-up comprises mainly original productions from ProSiebenSat.1 such as TV series, comedy shows, made-for-TV movies and documentaries as well as a Bundesliga round-up.

The commercial-free service costs €7.90 per month in the introductory period; the subscription can be cancelled monthly. A one-week free trial offers viewers the possibility to test the offering.

With a PC, MAC and Laptop, the service is accessible through the web browser while apps are provided for smartphones and tablets using the operating systems iOS and Android.

The service is available in 17 countries: France, UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Canada, United States, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and South Africa.

For viewers in Germany, ProSiebenSat.1 recently launched the TV app 7TV.
