The Romanian public broadcaster TVR has postponed a decision on whether to transform its first channel into a news-focused service.
According to Mediafax, this follows a meeting by its Council of Administration (CA) that asked the committee director (CD) to conduct a study on TVR1, to be presented to the board of directors at a future meeting.
SPUSTV, the TVR union, says that Stelian Tanase, the broadcaster’s CEO, is in favour of the proposed transformation and the board, with which it is siding, against.
It was initially expected TVR1 would become a news channel as soon as September 1 this year.
