Virgin Media is launching a new personal cloud service, secured by the Finnish company F-Secure.
Customers will be able to store, share and manage their photos, videos and other content across devices. Content can also be shared between friends.
Joe Lathan, Director of Broadband at Virgin Media said: “We want to keep our customers, and their content, safe online so we’re giving our broadband customers an easy way to store and share content easily from any device, wherever they are. We worked with F-Secure to develop the new service which automatically backs up users’ content in the cloud for complete peace of mind. This is the latest of some great services we’re making available to our customers to help them make the most of being online and get great value from their subscriptions.”
Virgin Media Cloud is being powered by F-Secure’s safe cloud technology, younited.
“Virgin Media customers now have a simple, easy to use solution that serves their content needs,” said Allen Scott, Managing Director of F-Secure UK and Ireland. “With most people’s photos and videos strewn across their devices and various online services, Virgin Media Cloud offers a great solution. It’s an intuitive user experience that just makes sense – everything in the cloud, in one safe place.”
Virgin Media Cloud is available for PC and Mac computers and laptops, and for Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8 smartphones and tablets. Virgin Media broadband subscribers receive 5 GB of free cloud storage space, or up to 50 GB free per household, and paid packages of 50, 100, 250, and 500 GB.
