KPN added an additional 43,000 IPTV subscribers in the second quarter, taking triple play penetration to 47%, though with an overall loss in broadband subs.
The broadband customer base dipped by 7,000 in an competitive market. KPN has announced plans to underpin its IPTV and broadband customer base with plans to accelerate the rollout of vectoring that will lead to an improvement of 50% in the number of households with speeds of 100 Mbps. The programme is likely to be completed by the end of the year.
New bundles have been introduced for Telfort customers with the KPN brand being used on new fixed-mobile bundles combining single and dual play fixed subscriptions with mobile.
KPN reached 2 million TV customers leading to a TV market share of 26%, up by two percentage points. ARPU per customer grew by 4.8% year-on-year to €44 in Q2 2014.
