Orange continues to downplay its TV service with the detail on its IPTV and satellite customers now deep in its financial statements.
In the year to June 30, 2014, the French telecoms operator grew the installed base across the group from 6,164,000 to 6,767,000. Orange has long since ceased splitting IPTV and satellite figures, though the bulk are thought to be with IPTV, on the strength of an improving broadband base.
Fixed broadband had a total of 15.7 million customers at June 30, an increase of 4% year-on-year and net additions of 599,000 customers, including 318,000 in Spain, 198,000 in France, 52,000 in Egypt and 28,000 in Slovakia.
In France there are 5,776,000 TV customers, adding 67,000 on the quarter.
Spain barely moved the dial, adding just 5,000 TV subs on the quarter to reach 91,000.
Poland also brought in slow growth, another 12,000 subs on the quarter reaching 720,000.
