Digital TV take-up continues to increase steadily in Hungary, with 2,092,466 homes subscribing to some type of service as of the end of June.
Data produced by the regulator NMHH shows that, based on the eight major players, there were a total of 2.036,164 cable and IPTV subscriptions, of which 1,066,281 were digital.
At the same time, the number of DTH subscriptions stood at 902,758 and the pay-DTT service MinDig TV Extra had 123,387 subscribers.
Irrespective of technology used, UPC was the leading pay-TV provider, claiming a 26.2% market share, followed by Magyar Telekom (24.2%), Digi (22.9%), Invitel (3.9%), MinDig TV Extra (3.6%), Tarr (2.9%), PR-Telekom (2.4%), ViDaNet (2.1%) and Parisat (0.6%).
