The Croatian public broadcaster HRT made a net profit of HRK79.3 million (€10.4 million) in the first six months of this year, up from the HRK41.2 million it posted in the corresponding period in 2013.
Its total income amounted to HRK704 million, a 3% increase on the previous year, while its total expenditure came to HRK624.7 million, which was 3% down on 2013.
Advertising revenues grew by 17.2% year-on-year, while revenues from receiver licence fees increased by 0.6%.
Meanwhile, the volume of content broadcast grew by 16%.
According to the broadcaster, this has been achieved “by increasing management efficiency and reducing operating costs after changing the internal structure of HRT and the introduction of a new integrated functional organisation”.
HRT adds that it invested around HRK60 million in technological modernization in the first six months of this year.
