Bulgaria’s telecom market is likely to see less income and more investment in 2014.
Quoting the findings of a report produced by the Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC), Balkans.com reports that total investment in the sector in 2014 will amount to BGN624 million (€319 million).
Significantly, it will be the first increase in three years, with the 2013 total having been BGN524 million.
The biggest investor in 2014 will be Globul, which is now owned by Telenor and renewing its network at a cost of BGN300 million.
However, it is not clear how much of this investment will actually be made this year.
Meanwhile, Mobiltel is planning to invest around BGN200 million in 2014.
