The Spanish media group Atresmedia, formerly known as Grupo Antena 3, has posted a profit of €37.8 million for the first half of this year, up from €29 million in the same period in 2013.
Its net revenues amounted to €450.7 million (€423 million) and EBITDA €60.2 million (€39.5 million).
Although the company closed three channels in May and was hit by coverage of the World Cup by other services, its audience share in H1 was, at 28.8%, 0.4 percentage points up on a year earlier.
Atresmedia operates the flagship channel Antena 3, which had a 13.7% audience share in H1 (+0.6 percentage points y-o-y) and laSexta (6.9%, +0.9 percentage points y-o-y).
The complementary channels Neox, Nova, Nitro, Xplora and laSexta3 had a combined audience share of 8.2% in H1.
However, Nitro, Xplora and laSexta were closed down in compliance with a Supreme Court ruling overturning the Council of Minister’s 2010 agreement allocating DTT licences.
