Almost one in three Polish cable and DTH viewers are considering cancelling their subscriptions.
Quoting the findings of a report by the media house MEC entitled Projekt Cyfrowizja, Wirtualne Media adds that among cable customers the figure stands at 25%, while among those receiving satellite services it is a much higher 33.5%.
The main reasons for their dissatisfaction are high fees and the fact that they can receive DTT services for free.
Indeed, half feel that DTT would offer them sufficient channels. Interesting, 14% of viewers say that they would give up their subscriptions as most channels that interest them are available online.
However, most of these viewers are aged 15-24.
On the other hand, 72% of cable and 85% of DTH subscribers now agree their TV offer is better than ever.
Cable subscribers also cite internet as part of the package (37%) and cable and DTH subscribers good prices (42%) as reasons to stay with their providers.
Subscribers identify Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, TVN24, AXN and Ale Kino+ as the services most worth paying for.
Among female viewers, TVN24 and Ale Kino+ were replaced by TVN Style and TLC, while young viewers aged 15-24 identified AXN as their favourite service.
