Discovery Networks Deutschland has signed new carriage deals for HD distribution of its women’s channel TLC in Germany.
TLC HD has launched on Eutelsat’s direct-to-cable platform KabelKiosk and on the cable networks of Tele Columbus and PrimaCom. The channel has previously only been available in SD format on these platforms.
At Tele Columbus, TLC HD is part of the packages Kabel TV HD and Plus HD while PrimaCom offers the channel within its Kabelanschluss HD and Kabelanschluss Premium subscriptions. KabelKiosk distributes TLC HD as part of its Basis HD bouquet.
The advertising-financed free-to-air channel which targets women between 20 and 49 years of age launched in Germany on April 10, 2014. The HD version has so far only been available on Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV platform Entertain and via satellite on the HD+ platform on Astra (19.2° East).
