The Czech commercial broadcaster TV Barrandov is looking into the possibility of launching two more channels.
Parabola and Media Guru report that this would be done in cooperation with SPI International, with the latter providing content and Empresa Media, TV Barrandov’s owner, being responsible for distribution and marketing.
One of these channels would probably focus on movies, like Nova Cinema, while the other would offer documentaries, in the style of Prima Zoom.
They add that negotiations between the two parties are at an advanced stage, though no agreement has yet been signed.
TV Barrandov’s main channel currently has an audience share of just below 5% and is unlikely to increase it much further.
