The Telekom Slovenije subsidiary Blicnet, which is based in Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina, has signed a contract to buy 100% of the Telrad Net for an undisclosed fee.
Blicnet is an integrated provider of mobile and fixed telephony services, broadband internet, cable and digital TV, as well as a network operator and system integrator.
According to Telekom Slovenije, the transaction will further strengthen Blicnet’s presence in the Bosnia & Herzegovina market, as well as implement Telekom Slovenije Group strategy, which is based on providing technologically advanced and up-to-date services to its customers.
It adds that its activities in Bosnia & Herzegovina “are in line with the adopted Strategic Business Plan of the Telekom Slovenije Group for 2012–2016, which forecasts consolidation of the markets and a growth in the number of customers on the markets of SEE. One of the strategic goals of the Telekom Slovenije Group is to consolidate its position as a strong regional operator and to become the first alternative provider of integrated telecommunications services on each of the markets where the group is present”.
The telco says no further details about the transaction will be disclosed until its completion.
Telrad Net was formed at the beginning of 2011 when Telrad Net, one of the leading telcos in Bosnia & Herzegovina, split its activities into two companies, overseeing infrastructure and services.
Its offer includes the provision of cable TV services.
