Kipco has received an offer to buy 100% of its Middle East satellite platform OSN, local media reports.
The confidential bid for holding company Panther Media Group follows a statement from Kipco Vice Chairman Faisal Al-Ayyar that an IPO would begin in the next few weeks. Rothschild was last year hired by the company to examine the options for an IPO.
OSN was created in July 2009 from a merger between the Showtime and Orbit platforms.
Kipco owns 60.5% in OSN with the remainder held by the Mawarid Group.
