Slovak Sport would like to make its first channel available to viewers free of charge via DTT in the Czech Republic.
At the same time, it has made its third channel available to Czech operators.
Quoted by Digizone, Robert Gregus, the CEO of Slovak Sport, confirmed that negotiations are currently taking place with an unnamed party to gain access for Slovak Sport 1 on a Czech DTT multiplex.
He added that it was premature to assume that this would happen by September.
Meanwhile, quoted by Parabola, Jaromir Glisnik, a board member at M7, the owner of the Czech/Slovak DTH platform Skylink, said that inclusion of Slovak Sport’s first channel in the Czech DTT offer would have no effect on its DTH distribution, where it would remain a paid service.
Slovak Sport holds the rights to a number of key sports including the Czech Synot football league.
DTT distribution would significantly increase its reach in the Czech Republic.
