Swiss-based iConcerts (TransMedia Communications) is set to launch an OTT channel for worldwide distribution.
The new channel will be available on smart phones, tablets, PCs, Macs, as well as on connected smart TVs, and is set for launch before the end of the year, reports French news service Satellifax.
The new channel will be in addition to the current iConcerts on-demand service and apps, which gives access to over 1,500 live concerts. Programming will concentrate on clips as well as on short news items. The concert channel is particularly strong in classic rock and pop-rock, but the whole spectrum of music is covered.
At the moment, iConcerts on-demand service is available on smart TVs from Samsung, Sharp, Philips, LG, Panasonic and Toshiba.
