i24news reaches 75 million households in Europe

July 11, 2014 08.40 Europe/London By Robert Briel

i24newsIsraeli i24news has reached the milestone of over 75 million households across Europe via pay TV on satellite and cable.

The channel also took its first steps in the US thanks to a partnership with JLTV which broadcasts a daily block of i24news programs on the biggest US satellite DTH and cable TV systems (DirecTV, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and others).

Since its launch on July 17, 2013, i24news said it has has succeeded in achieving its goals: bringing a new insight on Israel and the Middle East to world news. Located in a state-of-the-art modern newsroom in Jaffa Port, the channel came into being in less than 100 days.

“In one year, this start-up news channel has served as an innovative pioneer, thanks to a team of 150 journalists of all religions and from 30 different countries. i24news has become a symbol of coexistence, diversity and multiculturalism; it broadcasts in three languages: English, French and Arabic, 110 newscasts per day, 18 Magazines per week and in its first year aired nearly 19,000 hours of content.”

According Digitime figures, i24news shows the highest important audience increase among the news channels offered by French TV operator SFR, with +15% market share since September 2013.

“After one year, the i24news viewer watches the channel for one hour a day on average, which is an outstanding figure,” said i24news CEP Frank Melloul.

“The channel has definitely found its place among the big international news channels, thanks to the professionalism and the dedication of our team in particular in the past few weeks and I am very proud of it.”
