The Latvian incumbent Lattelecom has reintroduced the Russian channel RTR (Rossiya) to its offer after a three-month break.
It was originally withdrawn following a decision by the National Electronic Media Council (NRTP), brought about by the crisis in Ukraine and its coverage by Russian broadcasters.
According to Lattelecom, RTR was replaced by the movie channel K2, which offered viewers Russian-made feature films from the last 20 years.
In the three months it was on air, K2 became the 15th most watched channel in Lattelecom’s offer.
Lattelecom says it has added a number of new channels to the basic package of its Lattelecom TV pay serviceon a trial basis.
They include the Ukrainian services Espresso and Inter+, Russia’s Dohzd and BBC World, while BBC World and CNN International were added to Lattelecom’s DTT offer.
