The Commercial Court of Annecy has placed regional broadcaster TV 8 Mont Blanc in receivership at the request of its owners.
In order to reduce costs, the privately owned channel already decided to cease transmission on Astra and Eutelsat Hot Bird, but continues on Eutelsat 5 West A.
The channel will continue broadcasting. “We are masters of our future,” said Julien Cachat, the company’s CEO. The bankruptcy procedure should allow the company to start on a new basis.
The broadcaster will revamp and refocus its program me schedule in September, Cachat said.
The channel started broadcasting 25 years ago, but disappeared for a couple of years to reappear in 2000.
