Global media group SPI International wants to launch its TV channels in Germany and Austria, as Berk Uziyel, director of new media at SPI International and executive director of FilmBox International, confirmed to Broadband TV News.
He didn’t disclose further details, for example regarding the channels or distribution platforms, but said that the official announcements would be made soon.
SPI International recently made its first entry into German-language Europe by completing a distribution deal with The Digital Cable Group in Switzerland to launch two pay-TV sports channels – FightBox HD and Fast&FunBox HD – in the German-speaking part of the country.
SPI International operates a total of 34 TV channels which reach more than 25 million subscribers in 10 countries. The portfolio includes eight HD channels.
