Flipps Mobile adds kids channels

July 2, 2014 08.02 Europe/London By Robert Briel

FlippsHappyHDFlipps has launched a library of on-demand children’s programming featuring a wide variety of animated and live action content that is kid- and parent-friendly.

The Flipps app facilitates streaming video to connected TVs without any additional hardware or set up. By downloading the Flipps mobile application for free on iOS and Android people can start streaming to a connected TV instantly.

To meet the growing demand for kids content, Flipps has amassed hundreds of licenced animated blockbuster movies and cartoons including the Angry Birds series and such classics as Popeye and Merrie Melodies.

Some of Flipps recent partnerships include deals with Battery POP (original series, Janet’s Planet, Chew on That), Happy (Angry Birds, Shrek), Hooplakidz (world’s largest kids content channel on YouTube), Studio 100 (one of the largest independent catalogues of children’s content, characters and classics), Toon Goggles (over 170 series including their top shows), Viewster (Daffy Duck, Woody the Woodpecker, Betty Boop) and Vipo (Snowball VFX, Nir Gedasi).

“Kids crave on-demand programming, but often consume it on mobile devices. We made it extremely easy for kids and parents to ‘flip’ a wide range of entertainment and educational programming to the big-screen TV and control it all from the phone,” said Kosta Jordanov, Flipps CEO.
?
“With Flipps’ simple, dynamic interface and fantastic content offerings, batteryPOP’s highly curated kid-focused video library is a perfect match,” said co-founder of batteryPOP, Greg Alkalay. “We’re very excited to partner with this innovative company.”

“In our quest to ensure tech savvy children and parents have access to our great content on the most innovative platforms, it was only natural for Toon Goggles to align itself with Flipps thus allowing viewers to easily “flip” content to larger screens for more enjoyment. Kudos to the great team of engineers at Flipps that worked hard to bring the Toon Goggles’ channel to its millions of users,” said Stephen Hodge, Toon Goggles managing director.
