Poland’s Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) has opened a consultation into five local DTT multiplexes.
According to the regulator, the multiplexes, known as L4, L5, L6, L7 and L8, will employ frequencies in the 470-790 MHz band and serve parts of Silesia and the far west of Poland.
It adds that licences for the use of the multiplexes will be valid until the end of 2020 and allow the holders to distribute licensed TV or radio service that do not have national concessions.
The UKE says that Telewizja Odra, a local analogue TV service currently off the air, will be able to use the multiplexes.
Poland has until now launched two local multiplexes (L2 and L3), with a third due to make its debut later this summer.
