HD+ launches catch-up TV portal as smart TV app

June 27, 2014 11.06 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

HD Plus InterAktivHD+, the fee-based satellite platform carrying the HD versions of commercial TV channels on Astra (19.2 degrees East) for DTH households in Germany, has made its catch-up TV portal HD+ RePlay available directly on smart TV sets.

The owners of selected flat-screen TV sets from LG can access the service as an application on their TV screen. The HD+ RePlay app is reached through the smart home button on the remote control. When pressed, a menu will appear showing the catch-up services by TV channels RTL, Sat.1, ProSieben, n-tv, VOX, kabel eins, Super RTL and DMAX.

With the TV app, HD+ RePlay can also be used by households receiving television by cable, IPTV or DTT. The precondition is that the TV set is connected to the internet with the data rate of at least 6Mbps.

HD+ RePlay which used to be only available on satellite receivers can be tested free of charge. When activating by June 30, 2014 the test period will run for three months, afterwards for only one month. This affects both access through the TV app and through an HD+ smart TV set-top-box. After the test period, the service costs €15 for another three months. An extension is possible through local dealers and the website of HD+.

The HD+ RePlay app is available for the following LG models: LG LB580V, LG LB570V, LG LB490B, LG 55EA9809, LG 55EA9709 und LG 55EA8809.
