The Spanish regulator CNMC has set the final price at which Vodafone and Orange will be allowed access to the final mile of Telefónica’s network.
In a statement, it says that it will be the same as that charged to Jazztel, with which the incumbent has an agreement.
It will also represent an average reduction of 34% compared to the rates originally proposed by Telefónica and the final price will be applied retroactively.
The deal between Telefónica and Jazztel dates back to October 2012 and sees them share the final mile, serving three million deployed units.
According to the CNMC, there were 7.35 million FTTH accesses installed, of which 83% belonged to Telefónica, as of the end of Q1.
Just over 745,000 FTTH lines were in service, or double the number a year earlier.
