France’s beIN Sports has seen a surge in interest following the start of the World Cup, with subscription sales more than tripling.
According to Le Figaro, beIN Sports is the only broadcaster to be showing all 64 matches from the competition, 36 of them exclusively, and has created a craze among football fans not satisfied with TF1’s offer.
The explosion of beIN Sports subscription sales has been confirmed by all distributors, and though things may stabilise in the coming days demand is likely to be maintained through matches it is showing exclusively.
beIN Sports had 1.7 million subscribers prior to the start of the World Cup last week.
A number of operators, including Numéricâble, Orange, Free and SFR, are currently running promotions on the service.
