The Polish Office of Electronic Communication (UKE) has awarded a regional DTT licence multiplex to Telewizja Luzyce.
Valid until the end of 2020, it covers the area Luban Slaski, Jelenia Gora, Boleslawiec and Chojnow in the Lower Silesia part of the country.
Telewizja Luzyce, which has until now operated an analogue TV service, was the only bidder for the licence.
Local reports say that although the licence is for the L1 multiplex, L1 will in fact be the third multiplex operating in the area.
L3 is operated by NTL Radomsko, part of the TVN group, and L2 by TVT. Both have been up and running since late last year.
