A new station named TV Praha will make its debut in the Czech Republic at the beginning of July.
According to Parabola, it will employ frequencies used by TV Metropol, which will go off the air at the end of this month.
TV Praha will be operated by the Czechoslovak Film Company (Ceskoslovenské filmové spolecnosti) and TV Polar and offer viewers news and current affairs from Prague, along with documentaries.
From September, it will also offer programmes about life in Prague.
TV Praha will be distributed by the regional multiplex 4, which covers Prague and central Bohemia.
The Czechoslovak Film Company already operates the TV channels CS film, CS mini, Kinosvet and Horor film, while TV Polar is also active in a number of Czech film projects.
