Inside Secure protects Sky Snap in Germany

June 4, 2014 10.52 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Inside SecureInside Secure, a French provider of embedded security solutions for mobile and connected devices, has licensed its DRM Fusion Agent software to Sky Deutschland.

The German pay-TV broadcaster will use the solution to protect premium video content delivery for its OTT subscription video-on-demand (VOD) service Snap.

The DRM Fusion Agent software is embedded in Sky Deutschland’s Snap apps for Android and iOS-based devices. It provides the studio-approved digital rights management (DRM) required to protect Snap’s VOD library which includes movies, TV series, HBO productions, children’s programmes and Disney content.

Snap LogoSnap which launched in December 2013 is available to both Sky Deutschland subscribers and non-subscribers on the internet, iPad, iPhone, selected Samsung Galaxy devices and connected TV sets.

“Our collaboration with Sky Deutschland is increasing testament to our market leadership in downloadable DRM for securely distributing high value content,” said Simon Blake Wilson, executive vice president of the mobile security division at Inside Secure. “With leading customers like Sky, the BBC, HBO, Amazon and others as well as with all the major Hollywood studios, we are increasingly establishing our DRM Fusion Agent as the de facto DRM solution that also offers the best user experience on multi-screens.”
