Inside Secure and Thomson Video Networks protect Sky Italia

May 28, 2014 10.21 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Sky Go on Sky Italia (mobile)Sky Italia will deploy Thomson’s ViBE VS7000 multiscreen video solution integrated with Inside Secure’s Downloadable DRM Fusion Agent to ensure security for its content distribution services.

Sky Italia will thus be able to provide a high level of security for its Over-the-Top (OTT) services.

“By combining Inside Secure’s studio-approved DRM Fusion Agent with Thomson Video Networks’ ViBE VS7000 multiscreen solution, we have removed a major obstacle that has hampered Web TV and OTT operators from delivering quality experiences to their customers,” said Eric Gallier, VP of marketing at Thomson Video Networks.

“We believe bringing stronger security and capabilities combined with a superior TV experience for viewers will open up new opportunities for players needing to stream or download offline content.”

The Thomson ViBE VS7000 multiscreen video encoder uses adaptive bit rate encoding technology with real-time encryption to stream high-value secure content to a complete range of devices. Inside Secure’s DRM solutions enable Sky Italia to acquire content from studios.

“Inside Secure and Thomson Video Networks are making it easier and faster for customers to deploy secured premium content services on mobile devices,” says Dr. Simon Blake-Wilson, EVP of the Mobile Security division at Inside Secure.

“Inside Secure is pleased to collaborate with Thomson Video Networks to help service providers offer quality services and run successful viewer-friendly business models.”
