German children’s channel RiC will become available on digital terrestrial television (DTT) for the first time.
SLM, the local media authority of federal state Saxony, granted parent company Your Family Entertainment the permission to distribute the 24 hour service via DTT in the city of Chemnitz and surroundings for eight years.
With educational, value-oriented and non-violent programmes, RiC targets children between 3 and 13 years of age and their families. The schedule mainly comprises cartoons and entertainment programmes with family series, movies, documentaries and music shows to be added at a later stage.
RiC launched in September 2013 to DTH satellite households via Astra (19.2° East). The free-to-air channel is also available on cable networks, for example wilhelm.tel and willy.tel, on IPTV platform Zattoo and as a live-stream on its website.
In Austria, RiC is distributed by UPC Austria, A1 TV and 3 Mobile TV and in Switzerland by Swisscom TV among other carriage partners.
